“Our mission is to continue to lead the casual-kilt revolution by providing customers with high quality casual kilts and accessories, at exceptional prices, accompanied by outstanding service.” How It All Began: (History) Founded in 1995, Sport Kilt is the very first company to begin making casual kilts in the USA. We took the traditional kilt concept and crafted a casual kilt using modern materials. It is a perfect fit for the needs of Highland Athletes and casual-kilt aficionados alike. Sport Kilt offers an option for people looking for a tartan (plaid) kilt that is less expensive, comfortable, lighter, and durable, yet machine washable. Athletes around the world love competing in Sport Kilts and, as a result, we have earned the endorsement of the Scottish American Athletic Association. Utility Kilts are becoming increasingly popular for everyday wear, and we are proud to be the leader of that trend. With an increasing selection of tartans, including our own brand of original designs, Sport Kilts cost about one tenth that of the traditional wool kilt. This, coupled with their simple good looks, comfort and craftsmanship, make them ideal for having fun in a kilt.

highly recommend the Sport Kilt Hiking Kilt to runners
I would highly recommend the Sport Kilt Hiking Kilt to runners. It lived up to and exceeded my expectations. The Hiking Kilt is a superior product that will change your running experience. I will definitely be wearing this for future training runs and races, including Burning River in two weeks. I will continue to post comments about the kilt as I do more experimentation.
Thank you Sport Kilt
In a recent thread Sport kilt seemed to receive somewhat less than favorable reviews. So after purchasing my second Sport kilt Ultimate. I thought I would share my experience. As noted in past threads and as evidenced by my pictures I am an avid Scouter. I do not only wear kilts when in my scout uniform but when in uniform I am most likely wearing a Kilt. I have never owned nor worn a hand made or real wool kilt so I have no basis for comparison.
Of the two sport kilts the OD kilt is 100% cotton and the MacLaren is PV. I found both to be extremely comfortable. Both machine washable. And seem to be very well made. As I have often said I am built a little different than you slimmer folks and some of you big boys too. With a large “Cookie Belly” wearing a kilt up at the navel is not just uncomfortable it is actually painful tightening a kilt around my “love handles”. Therefore I have chosen to wear kilts down on my hips the way I wear my jeans. So the problem is finding a kilt I can afford. In 20 inch length. Sport kilt Ultimate and Commando are made to measure and customized the way you like them AND they have pockets. I LOVE the pockets. For Hiking camping and other Scouting activities it is just nice to have FOUR pockets. For my self I have found the perfect kilt for what I like to wear a kilt for.
Thank you Seamus and thank you Sport Kilt
